I’m a researcher working on large-scale generative models.
I currently work at Google DeepMind in New York. Before this, I co-founded Udio, a generative music company, and earlier spent time as a research scientist at Google DeepMind in London, where I worked on projects like Imagen 2 and Lyria.
I grew up in Ireland and studied math at University College Cork, with a year at UC Berkeley. Later, I completed my PhD at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on generative modeling methods and their applications to likelihood-free inference.
These days, I’m particularly excited about making generative models more controllable and practical through post-training, and exploring ways to integrate them into products, where I think they offer incredible leverage for human learning, knowledge work, and creativity.
